- Westwood benefits from the efforts of our volunteers. Volunteers help out in classrooms; often reading with children. Volunteers help with special events, like our book fairs. They often offer additional support on some field trips. Most importantly, our volunteers run our morning breakfast program and make lunches for our lunch program. We simply could not function without the help of our amazing volunteers. We are always recruiting new volunteers. If you think you have some time to give, please contact Lynette MacKinnon (Vice Principal).
- All volunteers must have an up to date Criminal Record Check on file. Criminal record checks are only good for two years. Westwood can provide you with a letter to take to your local RCMP detachment (usually Maypoint). This letter ensures that your check will be free of charge. The time frame for obtaining a criminal record check can fluctuate from 3 days to 3 weeks. If you are interested in volunteering at any point in the year, please do start the criminal record check process early.
